Overview

MarkQ is an MIT-licensed, local-first quiz engine for turning Markdown or Obsidian files into self-hosted interactive tests. It keeps quiz content file-based while handling attempts, grading, answer review, analytics, and result history in a full Next.js application.

• Parses and validates single-answer and multiple-answer quizzes, explanations, settings, and local images from Markdown files.
• Keeps correct answers server-side and uses server-authoritative grading, deadlines, ownership, and Zod validation.
• Persists autosaved attempts, scores, shuffled order, flags, and immutable review snapshots in SQLite through Drizzle ORM.
• Includes subject and topic analytics, linked knowledge articles, a protected Markdown editor, and an optional per-question AI tutor.
